Nematodes are microscopic organisms that live in the soil. By isolating and multiply specific species we can take advantage of their infestive capacity on some insects.
In this case, we refer to Steinernema carpocapsae that proves effective against red palm weevil and Paysandisia larvae. Being a living organism, it is important to respect the rules of use that each manufacturer recommends.
The small worms look for the larvae, once located, they infest the larvae through the mouth or anus, then they release a bacteria which breaks down the internal juices of the larva, from which the nematode feeds. After some time the larva stops feeding and eventually dies.
